Review by Chrissi (191100) Rating (8/10) Review
by Chrissi She has to get a new job and finds herself working for a new magazine for women, the remit being that it is sexy, sassy and fun. Her editor is Lisa, groomed to within an inch of her life, and her boss is Jack Devine, who calls her Miss Fix-It, because she is so organised. They are wonderfully written, friends and enemies, wives and husbands, ex's and current affairs. The relationships between them are fascinating. The stories of the comedians of the Dublin pub circuit are lovely, and make most of the people living in Dublin sound as if they have quite serious liver disease, but are working hard to enjoy the hangover that goes along with it. I
had never heard of this lady author before, her book was a present
from friends who went to a "meet the author" evening at Waterstones,
and I have to say, I will make the greatest effort to obtain the
rest of her back catalogue, I did so enjoy this one! |
