The final stunning volume of Raymond E. Feist's great heroic fantasy trilogy.

As Prince Arutha and his companions rally their forces for the final battle with an ancient and mysterious evil, the dread necromancer Marcos the Black has once again unleashed his dark sorcery.

The Dark Brotherhood are still causing problems and it all seems that the Enemy will have to be vanquished in order to save both Midkemia and Tsurannuanni.

Magic and manpower are needed to bring all of this to conclusion, with Tomas, Pug, Macros and Arutha giving their all to ensure that the future is safe for the two worlds.

This story pulls together all that we have learned about Midkemia, and more, I enjoy this aspect of coming together of all the characters, and would like to think that they would be able to have a rest after all their hard work. (I am sure that they must all eat three shredded wheat in a morning.)

This marks the end of the first part of the saga, and ties most of its ends up quite neatly. I was very upset when this came to an end. If only all Science Fantasy series were as neat and tidy...
