All great things have something in common. The common thing is
that they are great. The book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective
People is also a great book. It has been wonderfully jot
down by Stephen R. Covey. He is also the writer of a number of
other great books like First Things First, Principle
Centered Leadership, The Power Principle, etc. all
these books deal with how to develop ourselves. The 7 Habits
of Highly Effective People is no different from the other
books of the author. The book falls into the category of self
help, personality development (character development) genre. It
is concerned with the importance of character in the success or
failure of a person.
Suitable for:

2. Adults
3. Working women
4. Housewives
5. Laymen
Style:
The book is structured very diligently. It progress progressively
from private victory to public victory in a smooth and continuous
manner. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is written
in a simple style yet the messages imparted are efficient and
effective. There seems to be an unobstructed flow of words. The
words used are precise, concise as well as to the point. The sentences
used are mostly simple sentences. The line as well as the word
seems to give you respect. That is the unique quality of this
book. The beauty of the book lies in the fact that it illustrates
the habits through wonderful yet effective examples. Moreover
you will find profound quotes in this book. Some of the astounding
quotes are
"Success is on the far side of failure."
Or
"We are what we do repeatedly, Excellence, then is not an
act, but a habit."
Relevance
Today:
The book was relevant in yester years, it is still germane today
and it will continue to remain so in the future too. The habits
that are prescribed in this book are the needs of the day today.
These habits, if we can adopt them in our day-to-day life it will
immensely improve our life, relationship, financially as well
as mentally. It contains some of the time tested principles that
are very effective. You can exercise your will power better if
you are proactive and you begin your work with an end in mind.
It also teaches us the significance of having written goals and
how to make goals in a very easy and simple way. Then there is
the lesson of building up our relationship with our near and dear
ones. It also has lessons on how to parents our children. These
7 habits are really the only way to live our life happily and
joyfully. All in all this book is a guide on how to live our life
successfully, happily, fruitfully and joyfully. So, it is one
of those books that you need to read.
