Deanna Miller has worked as a cashier, ESL tutor, technical writer, nanny, copy editor, and journal managing editor. She currently copyedits for a weekly newsmagazine. In addition to book writing, her interests are song writing, singing, dancing, and human rights activism.

Sky Bounce won the 2004 Wilbur Award for Fiction. The Wilbur Awards, named for Marvin C. Wilbur, a pioneer in the field of religion public relations, recognise outstanding secular media entries that feature religious issues, themes and values.
