Jeffery Deaver

Jeffery Deaver has been writing stories more or less all his life and made it his profession over 10 years ago when he became a full time author. He has been nominated three times for the Edgar Awards by the Mystery Writers of America and is a two times recipient of the Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine 's Award for Best Short Story of the Year. As a measure of his success two of his novels have been made into films. The first was 'A Maiden's Grave' (film titled as "Dead Silence") which starred James Garner and Marlee Matlin. The second film adaptation was the Lincoln Rhyme novel, 'The Bone Collector', starring Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie.

Jeffery Deaver has a degree in journalism from the University of Missouri and a degree in law from Fordham University in New York where he subsequently worked as a lawyer for 8 years. He has also been a folksinger, songwriter, music researcher and professional poet. Jeffery Deaver divides his time between California and Virginia, writing books, short stories and film scripts. His hobbies are travelling, cooking, collecting wine and entertaining.
