Richard Laymon was an author that I only discovered a few years
back, and I've been impressed with every one of his books I've
read since (shame he passed away recently).
The story tells the tale of 'The Beast House' (strangely!), a
house that's played host to a number of murders in the area, a
house that's rumoured to have beasts in it, a house that makes
money with guided tours...
There are plenty of gory details, lots of witty dialogue and some
sex thrown in for good measure!
It's
fairly formulaic as horror novels go, but it's fast paced, and
difficult to put down. There's nothing really new here, but there
really doesn't have to be, it's a good, solid, horror novel.
This isn't one of Laymon's best books, but it's in no way bad!
