Stephanie Plum is down on her luck. She's lost her job at New Jersey's most down-market lingerie store, her car's on the brink of repossession, and her apartment is fast becoming furniture free. Enter Cousin Vinnie, a low-life who runs a bail-bond company If Stephanie can bring in vice cop turned outlaw Joe Morelli, she stands to pick up $10,000. But tracking down a cop wanted for murder isn't easy And suddenly Stephanie has another problem on her hands. Benito Ramirez, a prize-fighter with more menace than mentality, wants her to be his friend - and he won't take no for an answer. Soon Stephanie begins to know exactly what it feels like to be pursued - and the best person to protect her just happens to be on the run... 'One of the funniest and most enjoyable books I have read for a long time.' Sunday

Review by Chrissi (270500) Rating (9/10) Review
by Chrissi The people are wonderful, I want to be like Grandma Mazur when I get old. Stephanie becomes a bounty hunter when she runs out of options and money, having been made redundant 6 months before from a job buying bulk lots of underwear. This is not the best training for hauling people to the police station who do not want to go and really ought to be there because they have done something naughty. Stephanie's first case is to bring in a policeman, Joe Morelli, with whom there was some unfinished business many years ago... unfinished in that she ran him over in her fathers car. It
gets better. I laughed so hard... the incident with the gun and
the chicken is brilliant… |
