In a single day of awesome destruction, nature's fury is unleashed on opposite sides of the Earth. On Mount Everest, a brutal storm rages, while in Alaska a catastrophic avalanche rips through the state.

In her London home, television presenter Josie Turner waits for news of her tycoon husband who is stranded high on Everst. In a remore Alaskan valley, avalanche expert Hal Maher is involved in a nailbiting rescue.

When the carnage ends, Losie and Hal find their lives turned upside down. When they meet, a fragile alliance is formed. Hal is an ex-Everest guide who promised himself he would never go back. Josie has deep-set reasons of her own to confront the ultimate peak.

The siren call of Everest binds Josie and Hal together in a summit bid which puts them in mortal danger. Their attempt becomes a desperate fight fo survival.

Wow, this is the first of this author that I have read, and it is really something else. I like thrillers, that is a given, but this really got hold of me.

The story is that of an avalanche expert in America and an English female television presenter, who are linked by a tragedy which occurred on Everest, and to lay the demons to rest, they set out to climb the mountain together.

The avalanche scenes at the beginning of this book are so fast paced that you can envisage every film that you have ever seen about these amazing forces of nature, and when they get close to the Mountain, the writing really is great.

I have said before that I love writing when the writer really knows their subject, and boy does this bloke really know his mountaineering. It is vicarious adrenaline junky stuff.
