THE NEW LINCOLN RHYME THRILLER When criminalist Lincoln Rhyme travels to a world-famous spinal cord injuries centre in North Carolina for some experimental surgery, he hopes that the operation will give him slightly more movement. He knows that it may kill him. But before he has a chance to undergo surgery, Rhyme and his assistant Amelia are drafted in by the local police department to use their forensic skills to help find two women kidnapped by a psychotic young man known locally as the Insect Boy. A cat and mouse game through the abandoned swamps of North Carolina is to have more devastating consequences than either Lincoln or Amelia can anticipate. Jeffery Deaver's new Lincoln Rhyme novel establishes him as the best thriller writer of the day. |

Review by Chrissi (301200) Rating (7/10) Review
by Chrissi He is no longer considering an assisted death, but wants ground-breaking surgery performed on the chance that it might improve his condition. ( For ground-breaking, substitute potentially dangerous). While at the hospital, he is asked to lend his faculties to the kidnapping of a young woman by a local strange boy with a known fascination for insects. Well, to cut a long story short, there are twists and turns which you could not possibly guess, and then it gets more complicated. Mr Rhyme must be some kind of psychic, because he seems to get some links that just were not there, but I suppose that is why he is the star of these novels, and I just read them. Not
as good as The
Coffin Dancer, I am afraid. |
