Review by Ngo Netto (310809) Rating (9/10) Review
by Ngo Netto Survive and Thrive has published three* new dynamic and challenging illustrated books by Dr Eden P Fazel:
1) DIY Coaching: Drawing Your Life Plan Eden's books are original and distinctive reading for anyone who wants to take his life into his own hands, rather than leaving it entirely in the hands of the health professionals and life coaches. 'I believe passionately that we can all take charge of our emotions and learn to live the life we want to,' says Eden. 'Too often we leave our lives entirely in the hands of health professionals but I want to help people take back control of their own lives.' Eden's approach to building physical and emotional health is summed up in two phrases coined by him, DIY coaching and DIY psychology.
Anger: A Very Healthy Emotion explains how anger is to be embraced, not suppressed. And Growing out of the blues is all about moving out of depression. His words make perfect sense especially in the middle of the current credit crunch that limits our spending power. Eden's books describe effective approaches to personal management of your life journey and your emotions, using Eden's extensive personal and professional experience across the world. Survive and Thrive Series (Books and Audio-CDs) draw heavily on Eden's personal and professional journey across the world. Eden's life has been a tough training ground. His mother was killed tragically when Eden was just 14. He was himself detained several times and experienced severe hardship at the hands of different regimes around the world, only for his pursuance of peace and justice. He trained as a doctor specialising in preventive medicine and population mental health and later qualified as an individual and organisational coach. He travelled the world for nearly a decade with the UN and Médecins sans Frontières (Doctors without Borders). As an aid worker and medical trainer, Eden lived in 31 countries, including North Korea (where he made a rare, undercover film about famine), borders of Iraq (where he rescued the international aid cargo seized by local authorities and helped Kurds displaced by Saddam's regime), Sierra Leone (where he managed an emergency vaccination campaign that saved many lives threatened by whooping cough), as well as borders of Afghanistan (where he witnessed atrocities of the Taliban) and Sudan (where he noticed the US led espionage using international NGOs – and left Sudan as a result). He witnessed famine, war, brutality and natural disasters – and endured his own private challenge with emotional distress caused by his difficult life experiences, and witnessing sufferings of others. "I've learnt forgiveness and can honestly say I have nothing against people who tormented me," Eden says. "I want to use my work through Survive and Thrive to bring the people of the world closer together by forging cultural and educational links." *there
are now a number of other titles in the series and we would assume
this will keep growing over time. The Survive and Thrive
Series can be bought directly from the Survive and Thrive website:
